For those of you who think that blogging is only for writers, think again. A blog can also be a showcase for your artistic talents. In the case of incoming Year I student Riana Santos, her blog now exhibits some very great looking digital artwork that she has created using GIMP.

Isn’t that beautiful? And Riana is just starting to learn GIMP. Imagine what she will be creating a few months from now when she has learned every GIMP trick.

GIMP is an open source software that is similar to Adobe Photoshop. At a time when branded software are becoming more and more expensive — prohibitive even especially in a Third World country like the Philippines — it is good to encourage young students to go open source.
