Art Exhibit 2008: Art’s “Oil Painting” (With Bataan Mural Redux)
What appears to be the lone oil painting put on view during the Art Exhibit at the Music Room held last month comes from Art Blanco, of the famous Blanco clan of artists based in Angono, Rizal. (According to Riana, when she praised Art for his painting, Art said that what he used were oil pastels applied in thick layers, which made it look like an oil painting.) The little girl gamely posing in the work is none other than Kuya Art’s younger sister Angel!

This isn’t the first time we’ve had the pleasure of seeing Art’s art. Just to refresh our memory, let’s do a reprise of the mural done by Art and his group (Erika, Erik, Shane, Vinz, and Mac-Mac) during the 1st and 2nd yr HS students’ trip to Morong, Bataan last December. (After all, T. Emma did say in her comment on Sir H’s photoblog post of the Morong trip that this painting deserves to be on the front page of the website, and we agree 100%!)
