14 February 2009, Colegio San Agustin Football Field, Dasmarinas Village, Makati. HEdCen Redwoods 1998 and 2000 boys teams ended the football season on a high note by winning the championship in their respective age brackets at the CSA Invitational. The Valentine’s Day tournament with a 7-a-side-format featured teams from five schools, including host Colegio San Agustin.

In the boys-born-1998 finals, Coach Ruffy’s players bested Claret School, 2-0, the first goal coming on a curling free kick by Raja Santos and the second on a tap-in by striker Jodi Layug from Alain Tanchuan’s cross.

Minutes later, in the boys-born-2000 finals, the younger HEdCen kids (under Coaches Bernard and Billy) copied the success of their older counterparts as they rallied from an early 0-1 deficit to blast Victory Army 4-1, with a hail of strikes by Abdon Ferrer and Gabby Matignas.
