Striking the Balance
We’ve been offline for quite a stretch. It’s not necessarily a bad thing. Summer break gave us a chance to rest and recreate with the family, do a little theater on the side, sort out some snags and mend a few tears in the fabric of our personal and professional lives. Plus, this schoolyear started out rather strangely, what with all the worldwide concern about swine flu and confirmed cases in our country resulting in suspension of classes and resort to home quarantine precautions.
As Hugh Grant’s memorable line to Julia Roberts in the movie Notting Hill goes, βItβs been surreal.β
(Let’s digress: After reading that last sentence, how many of you not-so-young people now have Ronan Keating singing “When You Say Nothing At All” in the IPod of your mind? Come on, admit it; you hear it, don’t you? “It’s amazing how you can speak right to my heart (doo doo doo doo doo) …” Ooops, that “doo doo doo doo doo” must have triggered it for sure. You’ll be stuck with that tune playing in your head the rest of the day. It’s like having Last Song Syndrome. Sorry. Or maybe not. XD)
We realize however that there’s a community out there waiting for updates and other information about the school and its activities. We owe it to you, our Dear Reader, to reconnect on a more regular basis. (Now there’s an antiquated phrase we never thought we’d ever use but always found appealing β “Dear Reader.” It conveys in two little words the depth and intimacy of the bond you share with us.)
In case you haven’t noticed, HEdCen.com enjoys being the school’s Unofficial Chronicler. We’ve taken it to heart. Thank goodness for flexi-time; we get to catch special school events and take pictures and make posts of what’s up and what’s happening. All we need to keep on fulfilling our beloved duty is to strike the right balance. Tough but doable.

So here we are back online, and you know what that means? You’ve got a really good reason to spare a moment or two away from your daily Facebook obsession habit to check out the latest buzz here in Our Third Home. ![]()
