So many different artists come and go and most of them only produce on or two hits. But you know a star is great if he/she makes hit after hit after hit and seldom fades from the music industry. Like the other great stars, Rihanna has been in the industry for quite some time now. She has been producing great hits such as SOS, We Ride, Unfaithful, Pon De Replay, Umbrella, Hate that I love You, Breakin’ Dishes and so much more. With her latest hit, Take a Bow, se rises to the top of the charts once more. We can only hope to see her rise without legal issues in her way.
I wish her the best and hope to see her in the ranks of the artists in the hall of fame.
I just got my e-mail from magic 89.9 saying that I passed the auditions as one of their Junior Jocks.
Heres the letter:
Hey you guys!
Sorry it took so long for us to get back to you, things are really hectic at the station now with so many events coming up.
Tin here, I know I met some of you in the “judgement room” at the auditions, but there are also a couple who I didn’t get to meet.
Anyhoo, congratulations again for making the cut this year!
We have a meeting at the station on MONDAY, APRIL 21, at 4:30pm. It’s going to be our first ever meeting, so it would be great if everyone could show up, we’ll let you know about what we plan on doing with you guys so it’s suuuuuuuper imperative that you all be there.
There are 20 of you now, and we’re planning on cutting that number in half - yes only half (or maybe less pa) of you will REALLY get into the program and get to train with the best djs in the country today - Boom Gonzales, CJ the DJ, Big Daddy Jake, the Boys, Mo Twister, etc.
Attendance is going to count for a lot, we can use it as a gauge as to how committed you are to the program.
We’re located at UNIT 907 PARAGON PLAZA EDSA CORNER RELLIANCE MANDALUYONG CITY. It’s the building with the huge-ass antenna on the rooftop and mga chandeliers sa 2nd floor. You can’t miss it.
Again, congratulations on making it and good luck on the next stage of eliminations!
kisses and cashmere,
Tin Gamboa
Magic 89.9
I guess that means I’m taking a much more wholesome role as one of magic’s Junior Jocks.
Wish me luck guys!
Its every man’s dream to try radio announcing at least once in his life. Its on my top 10 list of things to do before I graduate college. As soon as I heard that magic 89.9 needed junior jocks I had to audition. It took place in Timezone, Bonifacio High Street branch, on April 4-5 at around 10am-10pm. I really wanted the job because being a DJ is almost like being a celebrity without the paparazzi and the fans but still people know you… somehow.
I waited in line from 4:30pm to 10pm, around 5 hours and 30 minutes. I got so bored. Finally I got my turn. I stepped into the makeshift booth (it was one of timezones karaoke booths) with shaking knees and cold hands. I had to act peppy and loud and excited. I think I went overboard. They threw gay jokes at me left and right and all I could do was laugh and agree because I really wanted the spot. After reading an advert on a piece of paper and trying to convince them that I wanted the JJ (junior jock) position they finally a position. They gave me a spot in boys night out (their best and most popular show not to mention the greenest radio show on air ) once a week. But with what I did in the booth I think I’d be sacrificing my dignity for fame (which is what some celebs do anyway).
I don’t know if I should take the spot?
