It has been four months since your entry and it’s just now that I stumbled upon it. I feel so blessed to finally had the time to check out our website. It is God’s amazing grace that sustains each and everyone of us, especially in times when we are faced with very extraordinary challenges. The same grace that made my daughters understand that it is just their daddy’s body died BUT NOT his soul. And the cool thing about it, is that they have a daddy in heaven who will always pray for us and be with us. Which made Louise to comment ” It’s a good thing, Daddy won’t be late for Therese’s First Communion!”

Adieu Louie Donato!

thoughts from eog, parenting 101, everyday heroes

WE from HedCen would like to join the family of Louie Donato in prayer for his eternal repose. He passed away yesterday afternoon after a lingering illness. Louise (G4) and Therese(G2) had been Louie’s inspiration while Sasa had been his strength. I, personally remember his good looks and happy countenance even when he was challenged by his physical condition. He came to be present in Louise’s first communion, watched her daughter’s recital and enjoyed the school’s programs where Therese and her sister would perform whenever his condition would allow him.

Sasa came to pick up her daughters from school this afternoon. She is unfazed, very rational, very brave and very human. I admire her strength and wisdom. Or maybe, she has no choice but to be- her two daughters need her. She looked frail but she is a tower of determination and love.

Heroes are not born to be but crafted from circumstances that allowed them to see things from a different light or do extraordinary deeds. These are people known to have made great sacrifice but they need not be extraordinary humans. I have always thought that Sasa is a tough act to follow but to fight for your life and to have the courage to accept death at the same time and leave a beautiful family behind is just something that perplexed me. Adieu Louie!
