dear saints,
We have been mulling over the issue of trust and confidence and I realized why I am a teacher. I am a teacher because I believe in every person’s capacity to change and be transformed if given a chance. The faces of my students flashed before me. They are young and full of promise. I also remembered every teacher I have encountered and experienced working with. They too are full of promise. This potential is waiting to be given a chance to be nurtured or at least recognized. I am still full of promise because I am a work in progress too.
In my humble school, students are given a retest when they fail an important test. My admission procedure is not selective. Every one is given a chance unless we see that we do not have the capacity to help due to the realities by which we are also quite limited. It is easy to say that one is beyond repair if we do not have hope.
I have hope.
I remember that the teacher has helped a lot of students and that in spite of her flaws, she loved and protected them specially those whose circumstance is different from the ordinary.
She awaits humbly for the verdict but prays that her days be not cut-off from her work.
I remember my students and how I believe in their goodness and potential. I remember my policy on retest and the principle behind it. I remember that bad things happen even to good people. I will remember the saints
and Spiderman and their struggles to fight the enemies within.
They do not always succeed but in the end are rewarded with triumph.
If I will give a second chance, I will give it fully and generously.
I will be around while I can anyway to watch everyone and guide if necessary while I give you the difficult part of watching and guiding me because you are a good person and should you try to copy my signature and use it like a key to open the cave of King Solomon’s mines, I will forgive you because I have known you to be more good than bad. Please do the same for me when it’s my turn.
God bless us all.

Remember me and my kids? Allen and Austin are in Mt. Gravatt State High School Queensland and guess what they are BORED. But they being what they are, they are not exactly doing somethng about it. Allen loves the slack time. His back is all calloused from constant contact with his bed. He still aces his exams, though. I miss your slavedriver approach. I promised to send you news about their progress and I hope this makes it to you. Rest assured that HedCen can actually compete internationally as far as academic standards are concerned. Will send you tidbits once in a while…
G’day Queensland! Thank you for the note. Do keep us abreast of what’s latest with Allen and Austin. They might have benefited from our slavedriver approach but remember that they have good genes too.
Praying for everyone’s health and success abroad.
