Hedcen battle cry

thoughts from eog, everyday heroes

• HeDCen Song
Come together great and small
Build a better world for all!
Touch the fire in your heart,
Plant the seed of your mind,
Sing the song of your soul.

Found the corner of the sky
Where my tree of life will grow,
Where the heav’n and earth’s just one
Where my name has a face.

We are guardians of the earth
We’ll remember.
This world, country, alma mater is home.
In this place, dreams are spun,
Every child is a reason
To be brave, to have faith, to believe.

Better People, Better Earth
HedCen Lead!

The school song was one of the things I did not give importance to during the last 14 years of creating, reinventing and innovating the ideal Little Farm House curricular program. I was just suddenly faced by a “need” to because my regular 4th year batch 2006-2007 was graduating of course!

So, one day, I sat down to synthesize my vision for the school and in looking back over the years, I heard the same aspirations, undiminished but fortified with inspiration coming from every child in this school. I wanted to give this as a gift to my six star warriors: Anton Domingo, Kevin Esguerra, Gideon Agbayani Isidro, Enrique Tan, Japhet Tuazon and Nathaniel Riskin and to all the other students that will come after them.

I sat on my piano and followed the tune in my head. The lyrics had to be adjusted to fit into the measures. I had to ask Sir Lloyd to sing the first draft for me since I could not seem to hear the tune when I would do it myself. He told me that there were notes difficult to sing. I adjusted two lines and brought down my expectations.

The school song is the essence of what The Little Farm House is. The song is a mantra of hopes and intentions and on a more personal note, my battle cry. Not bad either if this will be my swan song.
