White-Eye Cuties
I’ve said before that not being an ornithologist, I can’t tell what species of the white-eye this is. The suspects include the lowland, mountain and Everett’s varieties. It could also be an Oriental white-eye for all I know.
But what the hey, this is one cute bird! It’s always a pleasure to watch a flock happily chirping away, bursting with energy as they fly from one place to another, alight then hop about a network of branches.
Being small and light has its advantages. A white-eye finds no problem perching on the greenest and most fragile shoots of trees and shrubs.
White-eyes don’t seem to mind sharing arboreal space with other bird species, even a larger and stern-looking YVB.
These photos were taken on a drizzly Saturday morning in the surrounding greenery at home, but you can also spot the birds in numbers flitting about in the trees around HEdCen.
