History
The Little Farm House Holistic Education and Development Center was conceptualized by its Center Director, Mrs. Emma Olympia-Gutierrez. Located within the premises of the Beverly Hills Subdivision on the Taytay side of the subdivision, it first opened its doors to 11 students on July 1, 1992, when it started out as a pre-school within the rustic farmhouse-style residence owned by the spouses Cesar Augusto M. Gutierrez and Emma Olympia-Gutierrez (hence, its original name “The Little Farm House Development Center for Children”) to answer the need for a competent pre-school tasked with preparing 3-5 year olds for the big private schools.
Because of the success of the pre-school, parents started clamoring for the establishment of an elementary school to continue the program. Thus, after a thorough study of the pros and cons and after the conceptualization of a “small school” that would be as good and as effective as the renowned big schools in Metro Manila, the school owners introduced elementary school operations in 1999. The concept was to provide for a very high standard of academic excellence while at the same time providing for a complete development in the field of arts and athletics. The elementary department was then registered as a non-stock non-profit institution and took the full name “The Little Farm House Holistic Education and Development Center” or HEdCen for short.
The elementary department soon began to make a name for itself both academically and in the field of athletics. It is now one of the leading participants in the organization of football schools whose members include Ateneo, De La Salle, Colegio de San Agustin and other big schools.
Following the completion of its elementary department, there arose a need to put up the same quality education for the secondary course. Thus, TLFH HEdCen recently expanded its operations to include a high school, after obtaining the required permit and recognition therefor from the Department of Education (DepEd). In keeping with the ideal that a school’s location, size and accessibility must serve its efficiency, and should be suitable and adequate for its activities, TLFH HEdCen is planning to construct additional facilities following the expansion of its operations.
