I’ll be hi-jacking this account for now since no one is using it.
It’s been a while since I last put on my blue-gray polo and dark blue slacks. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss ‘em. I miss my high school years which I find quite surprising. Since my sophomore year, all I wanted was to get to college. This led me to take a lot of things for granted. I really believed that high school was just a road block to the land of fun-anza. I just wanted to get out of there.
I always tried to socialize with the upper batch and teachers because I really thought that I was more mature and sophisticated. I could easily say that this was one of the dumbest things that I’ve ever thought but I lived by this all the way to graduation. I’ve spent all those years talking and thinking about college and not living high school. Heck, I lived those four years pretending that I knew how to do stuff and being such a lazy bum. I eventually became closer to my own batch in my senior year when the older ones had already graduated but the thought never escaped me. It was still there. Now, I regret not spending as much time with my own classmates as I should have. They were really fun people. It was too late before I realized that I had been wasting my time- a lot of it. I was a senior but high school had only just begun.
Right now, I’m taking a break from studying for my final exams in economics. This semester hasn’t been very good to say the least. I’ve been such a “patapon” student because I never developed good study habits (see above paragraph). I have an estimated general weighed averaged of 2.0-2.2 5 for this first semester. I’m taking classes with people I don’t like, with profs that are, at times, unbearable and exams whose sole purpose is to make you cry. I waited for four years for this? I’d rather cram 3 papers and an invention the night before science expo day than this. It’s a good thing my friends keep me sane.
There’s something I miss about everybody knowing your name, the uncoordinated football plays, the open-air urinals and even ethnic Wednesdays (even though my ethnic “attire” was quite terrible).
To those who are applying/taking college tests/done with the tests, there is no pressure. College is college. Worry about work or the environment or something. No use in worrying about the inevitable, is there?
Enjoy high school. You only get to live four years of it.

February 16th, 2008 student-council
On the 15th of February, the juniors and seniors celebrated the annual JS Turnover Ceremony. It was a smashing success mainly because of how it was handled: with much care and promptness. I applaud for those who gave their best efforts in making the event fun for everyone.
Everyone looked neat and swell. The boys were looking muy guapo and the ladies were muy hermoso. I believe everyone had a great time.
The highlight of the night came after dinner. The seniors gave a rock to the juniors as a symbol of passing down the burden of responsibility. I keed, I keed. It meant something else.
The dancing was also loads of fun. Everyone had a great time “dancing their socks off”.
Once again, great job, people who made all this possible.

December 11th, 2007 student-council
Christmas is nearing and the excitement all around can hardly be contained. On Dec. 21, 2007, we will be celebrating the Yuletide season with a musical production. Although I am not quite sure what the production’s title is, I do know some details. Proceeds from the even will go to CHILD. This foundation serves as a temporary shelter for children stricken by life threatening ailments. Tickets I believe will be priced at about 300 pesos each. It may seem to be a very uninviting amount but let us not forget the beneficiaries from this money. As repetitive as it may sound, we should always remember those who do not get to enjoy life’s pleasures and luxuries as we do. These kids know Christmas is coming and I believe no amount of money can match the happiness of a child.
Please bring your parents, friends and relatives to this event. Have a merry Christmas!

Hello.
On October 26, 2007, we will be having our first Humanities Festival. I bet you might be saying “Woah, that sounds great and all but what the peanuts is a Humanities Festival?”. Good question, pal. This is when we celebrate the arts, music and literature (at least that’s what I think)!
If I am not mistaken, there is a day and night celebration. On this special day, we all come in wearing costumes. Your costume should be based on a book, movie or T.V. character (that is pretty much anything though). We will be having a choral recitation competition (alright!) in the afternoon. Your will be meeting with your groups tomorrow, October 19, 2007. There will also be a best costume award for each level so make sure you wear something nice.
In the evening, starting about 6:00 P.M., there will be a program for the older levels. We expect the higher grade-schoolers and high schoolers to attend (the young ‘uns and parents can come too!). This will be organized by your loyal and loving seniors. There will be a poetry reading session, fashion show (woah, hot!), a showcase of musical talent, food and some open mic time. I highly encourage those who have skillz that killz to show off during the open mic time. ‘Til next time, friends!

Holy Conundrums!
Next week, a great battle is afoot! We will be taking our midterms exams for the second trimester already. It seems that the clock has been ticking faster than we we would have preferred. Fear not, mighty student, for we can conquer the obstacles ahead!
1 . Sleep Well, My Friend- Get a good night’s rest before the test. A mind well rested is a mind for the hunt!
2. Study, Study, Study!- Hit the books (not because of anger and frustration, Mr. Literal)! One must develop good-no, excellent- study habits if one wants to succeed. A mind well prepared is a mind for the hunt!
3. Seeketh Help From Others- Are you finding the lessons too difficult? Suck up that ego and ask help from others who are knowledgeable on the matter. A mind of full understanding is a mind for the hunt!
4. Put A Smile On That Nervous Face- Do not worry, my worrisome chap! Relax! Don’t let the pressure get to you! A mind well conditioned is a mind for the hunt!
Other Stuff!
Read, Footballer!
Now that it’s raining quite a bit, I think we should focus on something we don’t usually care about. Our football shoes are probably the most expensive single pay investment we have to make. It is proper that we take care of it properly. Firstly, sun-drying is a no-no. The material may get damaged especially if your spikes are primarily made of synthetic leather. The damage is evident from thinning linings in the shoe or when the outer material becomes flakey. Another common mistake is washing our shoes using a washing machine. Nothing says “Your spikes are going to last for less than 4 months” than this big mistake. Cleats have to be wiped clean from the outside and “newspapered” from the inside. Try to use some shoe perfume to rid it of the smell if you want. Newspapers are probably going to be your best pal for shoe care. When your cleats get wet, stuff it with used newspapers. This would absorb the moisture from the inside for sure. Just wipe the outside clean with a rag.
