Why not? Everyone else is “webmaster”. Why should I call myself something that every site creator calls himself?
Of course, I could have called myself “Cute Ako” (it’s true, anyway) or “Nocturnal Creature” (I’m more awake at night) but I had to choose a name that will identify me as the one who’s supposed to give you tips and tricks about blogging, so, why not “Webmissy”? It’s descriptive, it’s feminine (I’m female!) and it’s unique (very important!).
And what is my blog about? Blogging, of course, and how to publish — with style — your stuff on the web. I’ll try to demystify (look it up in the dictionary) web publishing for you so that writing becomes fun rather than torture.
I’ll tell you about the content management system (CMS) called Wordpress which we’re using in HEdCen.Com. It’s not my favorite CMS but it’s free and it suits our purposes so we’re stuck with it. It’s a pretty nifty piece of open source (OS) software, really, and there are so many plug-ins to extend its usability even more. We’ve already installed a few and we’ll add more as the need arises. And, yes, you will learn how to use them too.
