Summer Break
April 4, 2007 Random Thoughts 1 CommentI must admit, summer vacation is not an event that I look forward to. You may think of me as weird or something along those lines but really, the summer break was never an event in my calendar that I was enthusiastically waiting for.
But of course, there are pros about a vacation (I’m not saying that all are cons). Like sleeping late, waking up whatever time I like, going online the whole day… Blissful boredom kung baga. Honestly, I find nothing blissful in boredom. I’d rather be at school, my pencil full of bitemarks (No, I do not bite the end of my pencil; I must be the greatest advocate of going against those mannerisms, mind you), than be at home, ruining my eyes because of being in front of the computer all day. A lot of people may downright disagree to my opinion but hey, it is an opinion that most people do not share.
I guess I came to this conclusion about summer breaks being boring when I started being at home, alone, with my brother. Everyday, and I mean everyday, he’s always annoying the hell out of me: not following instructions, being slow at everything he does… Name it! At times, I can’t help but think that my brother was born to test my patience, which leads us to an advantage of being, indeed, alone at home with my ”lil bro.” This way, I can check how far my limitations can go and thus work on my patience which has always been at a 0.01% level.
I’m thankful for the school giving us a break. If they didn’t, I wouldn’t be posting an entry now because I’d be there studying, studying, and more studying. So it’s really fun to be at home now.
One thing though: do not think that I’m complaining about having a two-month break from school. In fact, I like my freedom (without pesky classmates and scary teachers). The boredom thing is just not what I’m looking forward to, okay?
