Happiness
August 12, 2007 Random Thoughts, Academics No CommentsAccording to Reader’s Digest Word Power Dictionary happiness is a noun meaning: feeling or showing pleasure or contentment.
Don’t you think the meaning is a bit lacking, incomplete? The true definition of happiness can’t be found in any Webster’s dictionary but rather, inside. You would know it when you’re feeling elated. No one would tell you, “Hey, you’re happy!” There’s just this feeling inside that compels you to smile or to laugh.
Furthermore, happiness isn’t just a byproduct of winning the lotto or getting 3,000,000 in Deal or No Deal. Sure, those things give you sheer, utter delight but even the simplest of things can bring true pleasure to a soul be it a high score in an exam or a joke of a classmate.
