“But it’s only 5 a.m….”
Got to the airport. “Where’s my ticket?” Panic. “Coach, you didn’t give me my ticket yet!”…Turns out that he did. I didn’t know what he gave me earlier. It was my ticket. Darn.
First thing to do: Make friends…How the heck will I do that? I wasn’t known for being the sociable one in the group of the Dana team. I barely knew my teammate’s names! Let’s just say I learned their names during the week and aside from that, how they act and communicate with each other. It was a bit strange. I haven’t been with such girly girls for a loooong time.
The first hotel, the first day alone, the first day of the intensive training…in other words-hell. I slept on the mattress on the floor. I didn’t complain, after all I couldn’t really speak my mind to such people.
Next day… It’s so freakin’ early in the morning! We had to get up at 4:30am and eat breakfast at 5. My hair was a mess and I was in a really bad mood. Breakfast sucked, I missed the food at home. That’s what happened for the next 3 days… then we moved to a different hotel.
Did I mention that there were boys with us? I heard the girls whine about being separated. I didn’t care for as long as we had a decent room and a clean bed, which was what we got but it was a bit crammed up with 4 people staying in it. I had to share a bed with one of my teammates. The food there was a whole lot better too! Anyway, about the boys, they don’t like HEDCEN very much. They were shocked to hear that I was from the school. I didn’t like talking to them.
I also had a nickname there. Emo girl or Emo for short. The girls called me that because I didn’t talk to them (or about the guys for that matter) and the boys called me that because I wouldn’t stalk them or giggle alot like the other girls and because they couldn’t remember my name. It was twisted there.
Mom, dad and Raja got there a little later. That’s when we moved to our final destination: Barotac. Remembering our past games where the people would punch our stomachs when the referee wasn’t looking or the ones who really made us fall, we were terrified of what would happen to us there. Turns out the people weren’t as foul as we thought they would be. They were big (HUGE!!!) but they didn’t hurt us as much as the ones in our past games.
Now, there was this girl that got on a lot of nerves during our stay in Barotac. She gave the girls (us) a talk about respecting guys. Now other people (like me) who didn’t deserve to be talked to got annoyed by this. “Just because one of us hugged a guy doesn’t mean you have to blame all of us!”- I used to think that was the case. But really, I guess she had to talk to all of us because she doesn’t want it to happen over and over again with different people. That’d be a real pain.
Mom bought me some really good delicacies of the area. I shared them with my teammates. They were really good (THE TOASTED MAMON ROCKED!!!). I experienced a lot during my stay like different transportation, from jeeps to tribikes, tasting really good food, life without internet (I didn’t love all my experiences), getting sunburned (same case
), being thankful for the food at home and how to wash my clothes (hahahaha! I loved that!). And well, I did get homesick quite a few times T_T but it all turned out well.
CONGRATS TO THE HEDCEN PEOPLE WHO WENT TO BAROTOC AND WON!!!!! That includes my brother who scored very well in the penalty shootout of their last game!
sige…gud byezz
by the way…I proved to the girls that I wasn’t emo..They even got freaked out on how perky I can get…”sigh”
